Preamble
The Stark
County Black
Caucus
This organization was
established in recognition of the hopes, the
aspirations, and the needs of African American
Democrats in
We seek to promote, foster and sponsor education, civic and political activities of the state and communities through the efforts of members of the Stark County Black Caucus.
To foster and encourage within the black community loyalty to and faith in the American Constitution; to participate actively in constructive social and political action for the promotion and safeguarding of the interests and general welfare within the community; to cultivate and improve the civic stance within Stark County communities; and to provide a mechanism by which aspirants for political offices may be heard; evaluated, endorsed or sponsored for political office at all levels of government.
In the achievement of this task, we shall oppose all those who would violate respect for human dignity and enslave the human soul. Racial persecution, intolerance, selfishness and greed have no place in the human family. We shall combat those things with the same resoluteness with which we shall also oppose all those who use power to exploit black people and other minorities.
Grateful for the traditions of our past and confident of the future, we dedicate
ourselves to maintaining and extending liberty and opportunity for all and, entreating
divine guidance, we proclaim our Constitution.
